Incorporating Bosch Full-Force Technology, the Bosch BNS200-18 Brad Nailer is a compact and lightweight tool which is actually 20% smaller than other brands. In spite of its smaller size, it is 10% more powerful.
This is because its design eliminates the return chambers that add bulk and weight utilized by conventional nailers. Air compressed into the return chambers, which is later used to return the piston to its firing positing, actually slows down the piston as it moves to drive the nail resulting in reduced power. In the BNS200-18, the air in front of the piston is vented out, thus there is no resistance allowing its full force to be delivered to the nail. The piston is forced back to its original position with another burst of air as the trigger is released.
Owing to its reduced size and weight, line of sight and control is improved. It also allows you to reach inside tight and awkward spaces. It is also less exhausting even when using it for work on the ceiling and upper sections of walls.
The Bosch BNS200-18 Brad Nailer runs on an operating range of 60 – 120 PSI. As virtually nothing of this air pressure is wasted on air resistance at the front of the piston, the nailer easily drives gauge 18 nails with lengths of 5/8 to 2 inches into hardwoods and engineered woods. This makes it ideal for working with cabinets, wall panels, and door as well as window casings.
For convenience of use, all possible adjustments are tool-free. Depth-of-drive, clearing of jammed nails, and direction of air exhaust can all be adjusted easily and quickly with your hands alone. Switching from sequential to bump firing is done with the selectable trigger, also without any tool.
The nailer has dimensions of 2.25" W x 9.75" H x 9.0" L, and it comes with safety glasses, a no-mar tip, and a carrying case.
