Magnesium is a strong and lightweight metal that has been widely used in the automotive industry to produce race and specialty cars. The nailer is intended for both interior and exterior trim work, fastening moldings, frames, and wall panels. It is also useful when working with furniture, cabinets, and hobbies and crafts.
Utilizing an oil-free mechanism the nailer drives gauge 15 angled finish nails with lengths ranging from 1 – 2.5 inches at 400-inch-pounds of power. It runs on compressed air with a pressure of 70 – 120 PSI delivered through a 0.25-inch NPT male plug. It requires 5.3 CFM of free air at 80 PSI to fire 60 fasteners in one minute. As it is oil-free, it will not soil your work and neither will you need to check it up regularly.
Depth of nail is easily adjustable and it can be done without any tool. The magazine is removable, also without tools, which facilitates cleaning and clearing of nail jams. The air exhaust vent at the rear is also easily rotated to direct airflow.
Firing of nails is accomplished in three ways –contact trip, sequential trip, and trigger operated.
In contact trip, the nailer is activated by pressing the trip mechanism against your work while keeping the trigger depressed. As long as the trigger is held down, you can continue firing nails simply by pressing the nailer against your work.
Sequential trip requires you to first push the nailer into your work and subsequently pull the trigger. Unless you follow this sequence, the nailer will not fire.
Under the trigger operated model, the nailer does not have a trip mechanism and will fire when the trigger is pressed. This is useful when the material to be fastened is difficult to access.
