Sporting a coil magazine that can carry up to 300 rounds of nails reloading the Bostitch N80CB-1 Round Head Coil Framing Nailer is definitely few and far between. This feature is quite useful when you are on the roof, as you do not have to climb down to reload too often. Of course, the nail gun is rather heavy when fully loaded but it gets lighter as you go along.
The nailer is designed to shoot nails with lengths starting at 1½ to 3¼ inches. These are wire-weld full-head nails collated at 15°. With these nail lengths, the nailer is perfectly suited for working with fences, frames, roof decks, sheathing, siding, and sub-flooring among others.
With a casing built out of aluminum, the Bostitch N80CB-1 is a lightweight nailer, weighing only 8 pounds if it is empty. It is, however, tough and durable, easily absorbing heavy use and even abuse. The magazine is also robust, being made of a tough composite material.
Intended for professionals, the nailer features contact-trip trigger. Care should thus be exercised when using it as the nail will fire as long as the trigger is pressed and the nozzle is pushed against your work without regard to the sequence in which they are depressed. Also, the nailer does not have a depth of drive adjustment featured.
Driving nails into your work is made easier with the aggressive teeth of the nozzle as it reduces, if not eliminates, the incidence of slipping. This is true even when toe-nailing. At the other end of the nailer is the exhaust vent that is fitted with a deflector to allow you to direct the blasts of exhaust air away from you.
The Bostitch N80CB-1 Round Head Coil Framing Nailer has dimensions of 5.78" D x 8.44" H x 7.67" W.
