Crafted for both professionals and do-it-yourselfers who work on interior as well as exterior finish and trim, cabinets, furniture, panels, staircases, and arts and crafts, the Bostitch SB-1842BN Brad Nailer fires 18 gauge brad nails with lengths starting at ⅝ to 1⅝ inches.
The nailer has an operating pressure ranging from 70 to 100 PSI, which gives it a driving power of 135 inch-pounds. This allows it to easily sink brad nails even in hardwoods. The depth of the driven nails, however, can be easily adjusted to flush, countersink, or even leave the nail head protruding slightly out of the wood.
Nails are held in a side-load magazine that is equipped with a latch that is highly visible, and which allows quick reloading to minimize downtime. The side-load design also helps in a faster clearing of jams. With its fastener view window clearly showing the level of remaining nails, dry firing is avoided.
A no-mar tip is mounted at the nozzle of the brad nailer to avoid scratching or denting sensitive work. At the other end of the nailer is an air exhaust deflector that can be rotated without the need for tools.
Owing to its aluminum body, the Bostitch SB-1842BN Brad Nailer is a lightweight tool, weighing in at only 2.4 pounds. This makes it comfortable and convenient to work with. Adding to this is the comfort grip wrapped around its handle. The grip is rubberized making it soft on your hands. It is also slip-resistant for a more secure hold.
The moving internal parts of the brad nailer are oiled to reduce friction among them, which minimizes wear and tear, and ultimately extends its service life.
The nailer comes with a carrying case, along with 1,000 pieces of 1⅝-inch brad nails. A bottle of pneumatic tool oil is likewise thrown in.
