The nailer fires 18 gauge brad nails with lengths ranging from ⅛ to 1¼ inches that are contained in a straight-angle magazine. It can hold up to 110 nails, which minimizes downtime due to reloading. With a side low-nail indicator, you can easily see if you are running low on nails and thus avoid dry firing. Reloading is done through the side of the magazine.
Depth of drive is easily adjusted using a tool-free thumbwheel mounted underneath the main body of the nailer, in between the nail magazine and the trigger. At the front end is a no-mar pad that eliminates nicking or scratching your work as you press the gun against the work surface. It is also designed in a way that maximizes visibility while aiming the tool for a precise nail placement.
In case of a jam, you can simply pull the lever installed behind the nose to access the offending nail. You do not need any tool to do this as the lever is held by wire springs. At the rear end of the nailer where air is exhausted, an air channel that rotates 360° directs air in any direction you want to. This also does not require any tool to rotate.
As a safety feature, the DeWalt D51236K is equipped with a trigger lock-off that disables the trigger and prevents accidental firing.
Weighing only 6 pounds, using the nailer even for prolonged periods will not fatigue your arm. To further make it more comfortable to use, its handle is wrapped with a rubber grip that not only softens its feel but also prevents slipping.
The tool operates between 70 and 120 PSI. Since it is designed for work that requires exact nail placement, it only fires in sequential mode.
