With its magnesium casing, the DeWalt D51321 is a lightweight tool, weighing only 4.9 pounds, making it easy to carry while climbing up and working on the roof. In spite of being lightweight, it is also sturdy and strong enough to take on the harsh environments of a construction site.
The DeWalt D51321 fires ¾- to 1¾-inch roofing nails with a diameter of 0.120 inch. The nails are contained in a coil magazine that can accommodate as many as 120 pieces, thus minimizing downtime due to frequent reloads. Nevertheless, when a reload is necessary, the magazine can be quickly and easily loaded from its side.
The nailer operates at an air pressure ranging from 70 to 120 PSI, thus providing sufficient power to drive nails through tough roofing materials. These can be fired either in sequential or bump trigger mode.
The depth of the nails is adjustable via a tool-free thumb wheel. Once set, you can be sure that your nails will be at a uniform depth. While jams are rare because of the pneumatic-bias feed piston that provides consistent nail feeds, occasionally a bent nail can jam the nosepiece. In such an event, you can simply open the nose door to remove the offending nail.
In order to prevent the machine from sliding on sloped roofs, it is equipped with replaceable anti-skid pads mounted on the front and rear sections of the casing. The grip is also fitted with a textured anti-slip grip for a secure and comfortable hold. Above it is an adjustable air exhaust vent that can be directed away from you.
Integrating a piston catch design, consistent drive is guaranteed in every shot. With double o-rings, the feed piston is protected from premature wear. Cleaning of the feed piston area is facilitated with a hinged feed piston cover.
As a safety measure, the DeWalt D51321 Coil Roofing Nailer has a trigger lock that disables the trigger while the machine is not in use, thus preventing accidental firing.
