Included in the XRP DeWalt Cordless System, the DeWalt DC618K Heavy-Duty XRP Angled Finish Nailer Kit has no need for air hoses that could get in the way while nailing trims and moldings especially overhead, or air compressors that can be heavy to carry around the work site.
The DC618K is run by a DeWalt's XRP 18-volt battery that can provide sufficient power to drive 16 gauge 1¼- to 2½-inch nails into both soft and hardwoods. The magazine can carry up to 120 nails thus you do not need to keep reloading. If you do need to reload, you can do this through the rear of the magazine. It is angled at 20° and can accommodate both DeWalt and Paslode 20° nails.
It has two operating modes –the sequential and bump modes. Sequential mode is used for precision nailing. It is also a safer method to use as you will need to cycle the trigger each time you fire. Bump mode, on the other hand, is more suitable if you are concerned with speed. Just press the nozzle against the wood and it’s a go.
The nailer is quick enough to fire up to 4 – 5 nails in one second. In case it jams when you are shooting this fast, you can easily remove the nosepiece without any tools to clear the jammed nail. If you are working in a dark corner, you can use the integrated LED light to illuminate your work. As a safety measure, you can engage the Contact Trip Lock-Off to disable the trigger while it is not in use.
Protecting the inner mechanisms of the nailer is a tough casing. It has an impact resistant top cap that is easily detached for servicing or troubleshooting. Colored in the DeWalt trademark yellow and black and the silver top cap, the nailer is highly visible even in a cluttered jobsite.
Included with the DeWalt DC618K Heavy-Duty XRP Angled Finish Nailer Kit are a battery charger, XRP 18-volt battery, no-mar tip, reversible belt hook, DeWalt safety glasses, and carrying case.
