Featuring a lightweight aluminum design, the Freeman PFN64 Straight Nailer weighs a mere 4 pounds, making it a convenient tool to carry and use even for an entire day.
Inside the nailer is an anodized aluminum cylinder through which a one-piece drive blade is thrust forward to plunge the nails into your work. Its internal mechanisms run without oil but are, instead, coated with Teflon to prevent premature wear and tear. This makes the nailer easy to maintain, as there is no need to continually monitor oil levels. It also means that you work is kept clean because there is no oil that could possibly soil it.
The Freeman PFN64 fires gauge 16 finish nails with lengths starting at 1 inch up to 2½ inches. These nails are suited for both interior and exterior trims and moldings, furniture and cabinet assembly, as well as fastening of panels and baseboards. A straight magazine with 0 degrees holds up to 100 pieces of nails to avoid the need for frequent nail reloads that lead to wasted downtime.
With an operating pressure ranging from 70 to 110 PSI, you can drive the nails to flush with your work's surface even through hardwoods. You can adjust this depth to your desired level with a tool-free depth guide. Such guide is a dial that can be rotated with your fingers. It is mounted behind the nail magazine.
The nailer comes with a no-mar pad to protect the surface of your work. And to protect you from blasts of exhaust air when firing the nail gun, the nailer's exhaust vent can be rotated manually to direct the air away from you.
The removal of jammed nails is facilitated by the open nose design of the nailer's nozzle. You only need to pry a lever to fully open it to access and remove a jammed nail.
