Driving 1.25- to 2.5-inch 15-gauge nails into the hardest of woods, the Hitachi NT65MA2 Angled Finish Nailer is ideal for cabinet and furniture work as well as staircases and casings. This air compressor-driven tool packs plenty of features that make working and joining pieces of wood convenient.
The NT65MA2 has a sliding control that allows you to choose between intermittent and continuous nailing. You will want the former for precision driving, as it will require you to pause as you press the tool's nose and pull the trigger for each nail driven. Continuous nailing, on the other hand, speeds up the process by allowing the tool to fire just by bumping its nose on your work.
The nail magazine is angled at 34° providing access to hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. It can carry as much as 100 gauge 15 finishing nails with lengths from 1.25 to 2.5 inches. Nails are loaded at the bottom of the magazine, which is equipped with a window giving you full view of the nails inside. Although made of composite materials including nylon, it is just as strong as its metal cousins, but with the advantage of weighing less.
Depth-of-drive is easily adjustable with a knob mounted near the nose making it easy to set the desired depth of your nails. To keep your work clean and dust-free, an installed air duster releases a blast of air on your work with a simple flick of your thumb on a knob on the left side of the trigger. The exhaust vent can be rotated up to 360° so that it can be directed anywhere you want to.
The Hitachi NT65MA2 Angled Finish Nailer is a compact pneumatic tool with dimensions of approximately 13.5" L x 12" H x 3.5" W, and weight of about 4.4 lbs. With these measurements, and a well-balanced weight distribution it is easily maneuvered and will not cause fatigue carrying it. A non-slip rubber grip also adds to comfort while operating the machine.
