The Makita AN901 fires standard coil framing nails with lengths from 1-3/4 to 3-1/2 inches. These are contained in a canister with a capacity of 100 to 300 depending on nail size. Loading the nails is quick and easy, which, along with it large capacity, minimizes downtime due to reloading.
Firing the nails can either be in a sequential mode, or bounce fire mode. Switching between the two modes is done via a lever mounted on the left side of the nailer. It also includes a third function –a safety function that prevents accidental firing.
Depth of drive is adjusted using a dial mounted in front of the trigger. It has nine adjustment steps to help you set the exact depth you want.
Equipped with a built-in ceramic air filter system, dust and debris from the air compressor are effectively barred from entering the nailer, thus minimizing the need for cleaning and servicing, and extending the tool's serviceable life.
The Makita AN901 Round Head Coil Framing Nailer is fitted with a non-slip nose to keep it in place even when nailing diagonally. Side bumpers are also included to help protect the tool.
A contoured handle wrapped in soft rubber makes gripping the nailer convenient and slip-free. It also has a tool hook that can be installed either on the right or left side of the tool. The exhaust system can be rotated up to 360° to direct air away from you or your work.
Operating pressure is 65 to 120 PSI, with the compressed air delivered via a ¼-inch inlet. Minimum hose size is 3/8 inch.
The nailer's dimensions are 12-1/2" D x 16" H x 5-1/2" W, and it weighs 12-1/2 lbs.
