Engineered to drive small thin nails, which may be headless or with heads that protrude to only one side, the Nikle NS23.40A Pin & Brad Nailer a useful tool for both professionals and do-it-yourselfers.
It is specifically designed for gauge 23 nails with lengths ranging from 1/2 to 1-9/16 inches. Owing to the size and the nature of the head of the nails, they are barely visible on the wood surface. This makes them perfect for working with delicate woodwork, such as trims, moldings, frames, furniture, cabinets, and arts and crafts. They are also useful for temporarily holding pieces of wood together, such as when cutting a stack of planks, when routing, or when clamping a small piece of wood to another piece while its glue is drying. The holes they make are so small that they are easily concealed when finishing.
The nose of the Nikle brad nailer is small allowing it to fit into tight spaces. Although you need the supplied Allen wrench to open the nose cover in case of a jam, the operation is quick requiring about a minute.
In order to prevent accidental firing, the nailer incorporates a kind of second trigger mounted behind the main trigger. It takes a deliberate effort to flip it backwards before you can begin firing away.
At the back of the tool is a fully adjustable air vent that allows you to direct exhaust air away from your work or you. Below this vent is a circular handle which is wrapped in a black rubberized grip. This provides a more comfortable hold.
It is not only the nose of the Nikle NS23.40A Pin & Brad Nailer that is small. In fact, the entire nailer is small, with dimensions of approximately 12" D x 4" W x 12" T, which means it is easy to handle and maneuver. Weight is a shade over 2 pounds.
