The stapler/nailer is a heavy-duty two-in-one tool that drives both staples and brad nails to fasten bolts, hasps, wires, or pieces of wood together. It is driven by electric power delivered through an 8-foot long cord. This direct plugging into an electric outlet assures adequate power which will not run out like the cordless battery-powered types.
Unique to the TRE550 is its dual power level. A switch allows you to choose between Hi and Lo for hard or soft materials respectively. Although the nailer is designed to minimize jams, in the event that it happens, a quick-jam-clear mechanism facilitates the removal of stuck staples or brad nails. Stapling in tight spots is made possible by the flush-nose design.
Weighing only 2.38 lbs., the nailer is easy and comfortable to operate even when stapling or nailing on the ceiling. Adding to its comfort is the contoured grip that fits the palm of your hand.
The Stanley TRE550 Electric Staple and Brad Nail Gun shoots Stanley Sharpshooter TRA 700 Series or Arrow T-50 staples with sizes ¼", 5/16", 3/8", ½", and 9/16"; and brad nails sized ½", 9/16", and 5/8".
As a safety feature, a clip is installed where the staple is ejected. Unless this clip is depressed, the nailer will not fire. And the only way it can be depressed is when you have positioned the nailer to staple something.
The tool is 8" high and 7" long.
